Anthony Keith "Tony" Gwynn has just been elected to the Hall of Fame, on his first ever Hall of Fame ballot. Congratulations to Tony and just remember each milestone he broke when he was wearing the 19.
In his 20 seasons, he played 2,440 games, had 9,288 at bats, scored 1,383 runs, netted 3,141 hits, 543 doubles, and 85 triples. He also hit 135 home runs, 1,138 RBIs, walked 790 times, only struck out 434 times, swiped 319 bases, only got caught 125 times, and he has a career .338 batting average.
Congratulations #19 and welcome to Cooperstown.
