I am looking for any assistance from my peers to find a list of MLB players, preferably still living, who have also served in the US military. This is a group that I am interested in starting to seek autographs from. Any and all help is appreciated.

May I let him know that you referred me to him? Thanks for the information.

I know Jay Johnstone was/is a member of the United States Marine Corps. He did not see combat duty, though. He seems very proud of that through his writings, and notes a few other players who served as well. If you TTM him, maybe he can give you some names.

It's information available on the public SABR site: http://www.sabr.org/sabr.cfm?a=com&m=5

I don't know him personally nor have I dealt with his committee at all, although I am a SABR member. Not sure how active that particular committee is but it's worth a shot. Good luck

Ron Henry is probably a good resource for this. *nods*

I have, though, found a list of catchers who've served.

This won't help you out. But I found this on one of my favorite sites out there: A list of every MLB'er who dies while serving our country:

Blake,
Is it safe to assume that this isn't the Ron Henry who played for the Twins?

There is a thread on this forum that a member has done the obits for military personel that has played in the ML. Incredible stuff and he mentions that it is his way of honoring those fallen heroes.

Can't seem to find it right now.

Yeah....I thought the same thing and asked Stew Thornley if it was just a coincidence...unfortunately, it is just a coincidence. This Ron Henry isn't the same person.
