Going through a box of old commons, I came across some cards that I couldn't identify...the copyright on the back says 1994, and "Cooperstown Collection" on the bottom. Searches on eBay and google for varients of "1994, Upper Deck, UD, Cooperstown Collection" didn't turn up anything.

The cards don't feature current players, but retired stars from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and maybe earlier.

I can't imagine the set is worth much money, but I think it'd be great for TTM autographs, since they're nice looking cards and feature a lot of retired players. Can anyone identify the set from the pictures I've uploaded?

Mike - I've never seen these cards before, but they may have been put out by Upper Deck in conjunction with BAT (Baseball Assistance Team) to help raise money for BAT. If you don't know what BAT is, it's an organization set up by retired baseball players to raise money to assist other retired baseball players who need assistance financially for whatever reason, especially older players that never made the money that today's players make.

dmbfan...there is a "BAT" logo on the back of the cards, so you're probably right. Interesting set...I have about 20 cards from it, and the range of years is pretty big...I have Nap Lajoie and Rogers Hornsby, but also Bucky Dent (booo!) and Dave Dravecky, plus a scattering of guys from the years in between.

If anyone has any more info, I'd love to learn more about this set!

I've got quite a few of these signed. They were made in 94 by Upper Deck and I believe are called All Time Heros of Baseball.

Thanks jakre...that does seem to be the set, although a search on eBay turns up only one signed card from the set and a complete set of the parallel insert version of the cards, for $150.

At least now I have a name that I can look with, thanks again.

BTW, nice Tiant auto...did you get it TTM? If so, where'd you send to him? I thought he lived outside the US.

Mike,

jakre is right (and why wouldn't he...he's part of the TC.com staff!), this is the 1994 Upper Deck All-Time Heroes set and books between $20-$30 for the complete set depending on the source. The set had 225 cards.

Not sure about the eBay set you were looking at but according to the SCD Standard Catalog of Basball Cards, the parallel set books for $40 and were issued one per pack.
