Yes because other minor league sports like USL soccer do well... also the CFL does ok in montreal now too.

The only reason why USL soccer and CFL football are popular in Montreal is because those teams are winning. One or two losing season would destroy those team, particularly the Impact, the Als would probably ok, but they are the Buffalo Bills of the CFL so... people will get tired.

There is really a place called ASBESTOS? Where in Quebec is that? I guess it's pretty obvious what the main export is.

It is in the Eastern townships. About 45 minutes north east of Sherbrooke. It obvious what the main export was. The mine is closed :P

Interesting. I live in NH, maybe I will stop by some day.
There is no reason why a AAA team could not thrive in Montreal. The only problem is the distance from any major clubs and also the flop of the Lynx in Ottawa. Teams would be wary.

Ottawa isn't the greatest sports city. However, where are they going to move that team? Allentown PA? The pirates draw flies I dunno how different Allentown will do.
It's a shame though, baseball is having somewhat of a resurgance now and I think the expos just missed out on it (with their luck...). A minor league team would do fine in my opinion.
