I am starting a fantasy keeper league. I am only going to have 12 teams including myself. I already have 5 teams committed. If you want to give me your commitment e-mail me at chriskakaras@gmail.com. If I get too much of a response I will accept the first teams that commit. Hopefully this will answer most questions about the league but if you have anymore you can e-mail them at chriskakaras@gmail.com.

#1) I would prefer this to be your #1 league. As opposed to participating in multiple keeper leagues at once which divides your attention.

#2) It is required that this not be your first time playing fantasy baseball. If you have not played fantasy baseball before I ask that you not join this league.

#3) Dedication to the league is important. Would prefer to compete against like minded players (who like to make trades). Nothing is more frustrating than working over a trade and then it never gets accepted or rejected.

As far as logistics with the league, it goes as follows:

- Head to Head with playoff system. Categories include: (Hitters) Runs, Homeruns, RBIs, Stolen Bases, Batting Avg. (Pitchers) Wins, Saves, Strikeouts, ERA, Whip.
*I am willing to add 1 category for hitting and 1 category for pitching if the consensus of the league wants to do so.

- Draft will be a live online draft on a Saturday morning sometime before April 1. If you have no Saturday morning available or the ability to make one available before baseball season you can either A) not join the league or B) prerank your players and use autodraft.

- The teams will be made up of 25 players. You will need to start C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util. on offense. Then start SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P for pitching. So essentially you will have 16 starters and 9 bench players. You will also be allowed one DL spot if your star player goes down but will be back later in the year he won't have to take up a roster spot.

- At the end of the year you will be allowed 6 keepers. They can be all hitters, all pitchers, or any combination of the two. Now you will only be able to hold onto any particular player for 3 years. So if you have Albert Pujols you can not hang on to him until he retires. But you will get to hang on to him for a while. Just a note that 3 years ago the star players were for the most part not who the star players are today. I think Albert might be the exception though.

- I am capping the amount of teams to 12-14. I want you to have the ability to work the waiver wire to improve your team and make gambles because I want the person in last place to keep working.

- The top 6 seeds in the league will make the playoffs and the #1 and #2 seeds will get a first round bye. In order to give an incentive to the bottom half of the league to keep working. The #7 seed is awarded the #1 pick in next years draft. Then the #8 seed will be award #2 pick in next years draft til you get to the bottom of the teams that didn't make the playoffs. Then the playoff teams are randomized to determine the rest of the draft order.

- Obviously next years draft will not be able to be a live online draft because of the keepers. So we will be using a bulletin board system. Each pick will have a MAX of 24 hours to pick starting sometime early January. You will be strong urged/encouraged to not take that long because we would have 19 rounds and that would take too long. But your keepers will need to be in by Dec 31 of that year.

I think this should answer most questions, e-mail me at chriskakaras@gmail.com with any specific questions you have.

Let me know if you want to be committed to this league. Cause once I get 12 teams I am going to stop recruiting. God Bless!

Chris

--Wil or JW could you move this to the general Fantasy forum. It doesn't belong in the CKL subforum.
