Like Dave himself, a little humor goes a long way. Be it the season, the postseason, spring, or simply this winter's crazy signings, please list your favorite signings for us all to reminisce and discuss.
If you can't do a Top 10, then do a Top 5 and leave it at that, or fill in the blanks later on. ;)
Thx. :)

I agree with your sentiment, but the BBWAA never had anything to do with it.

1. Tigers coming from no where to dominate the AL for 159 games.
2. The sad passing of Buck O'Neill without receiving the much deserved phone call.
3. The BoSox ponying up $103M for a pitcher who has never thrown a pitch in MLB.
4. The farcical "trade" between the Yankees and Phillies that sent Abreu, Lidle, and their salaries to the Yanks for minor league cannon fodder.
5. The Marlins trading away all that experience talent and being the better for it. The Phillies might have taken a lesson here.
6. Mauer winning AL batting title and becoming first catcher to ever lead the majors in hitting.
7. ESPN's orchestration of Ryan Howard's MVP award. (Not that Howard wasn't a viable candidate, but that ESPN did a virtual "highlight" blackout on the other serious contenders).
8. The absolute inability of Tigers pitchers to cope with batted balls during the WS.
9. Cory Lidle's death. Sad.
10. The Royals firing Allard Baird.

No special order, just 10 big ones that came to my mind, however I believe Barrett/Pierzynski needs to be number 1. People will remember this on a "look back at the 21st century."

2) Barry Passes the Babe
3) Howard hits 58 HRs
4) Lidle Plane Crash
5) McGwire HOF Debate
6) Cubs Off-season spending Spree

I cant's list 10 things, but the top is for me undoubtly:
The Dodgers coming back in the ninth aginst San Diego, with 4 (!) straight hoemrs. From 5-9 to 9-9.
And Nomah walks off in the tenth with a two-run homer after they were trailing 9-10.
This was the greatest baseballmoment of 2006.

I hope this was sarcasm.
