With Elvis' help, I have decided to build my own Scale Model. I'll be making a scale model of Cheney Stadium, the stadium for the Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle's AAA team). I have attached the template Elvis kindly sketched for me and a rough freehand sketch I made myself. Tomorrow I'm going shopping for materials, so hopefully I'll have pictures of my progress up next week.

Go Russel go! :dance

My last bits of advice before you start are:

Be patient
follow your intuition
have fun
expect mistakes and accept them happily as learning hurdles
ask questions
have fun
don't be afraid to change course (add your own touches and ideas) as the building process evolves.
did I mention have fun?

Just wanted to say good luck. I grew up in Tacoma, and for a while lived about a mile away from it, so I spent many a games out there (in the free seats most of the time :) - actually I think those are the best ones anyways).

I love the free seats. The reason I want to build a replica of Cheney is because, for the last few years, there's been talk of getting rid of it. I want to keep a bit of Cheney with me forever. This was my favorite Park as a kid. I liked it so much better than the Kingdome and I still think it compares well with Safeco for being a minor league stadium. Cheney has a much better view from the seats than Safeco.
