With all this uproar about signing Suppan, Not to much has been said about the #1 starter Sheets. Is he healthy and ready to go for 2007? Just wondering if anyone has heard anything.

I haven't heard or read anything so I can only take that as being good news. I guess we'll find out when the team arrives at Spring Training.

Would the Brewers ever consider trading him? What about a trade that looks like this (Jays):

Alex Rios and a pitching prospect for Kevin Mench and Ben Sheets.

What do you Brewers fans think of this?

I would stop being a Brewers fan if they even looked at making that traid. We already have 7 fieldable outfielders, 2 of which are younger than Rios and I wouldn't be suprised if they start this year.

LF:Hart
CF:Hall
RF:Gwynn, Jenkins, Mech, Gross, Clark?

As good as Rios is, it just doesn't make sense to give up a high quality pitcher like sheets for someone we don't really need.

What, in your opinion, would it take to get Sheets? Or is simply not a guy that you would trade.

I'm not an expert on the Brewers by any stretch. They're the one team in the NL I do enjoy following though. But it seems that Sheet would be as close to untradable as you can get. Of Course, as a Jays fan, it would be nice to see him in Canada.

I wouldn't say he couldn't be traded but the team would have to get alot in return for the fanbase to be happy. As for who that could be, I'd rather not think about that and make up my mind if and when it did happen.

Everyone seems positive about Sheets status for the coming season.

Beyond the addition of Suppan, the Brewers feel much better about their starting pitching because Sheets is in good health after missing much of last season with shoulder issues.

When Sheets returned home after the 2005 season, he was still recovering from a torn muscle behind the shoulder that led to subsequent problems last year. But he was throwing well at the end of last season and club officials have no reason to expect anything but a fully healthy pitcher when spring training begins.

"Everything we've heard is that he is feeling fine," said assistant general manager Gord Ash, who directs the club's medical program.

Sheets had back surgery to correct a bulging disc before the '05 season and reported some minor discomfort earlier this winter. Ash said trainer Roger Caplinger went to Dallas to visit Sheets, and it was determined he merely needed to focus more on exercises to keep the back strong.

"He cannot allow himself to sit for two months and do nothing," said Ash. "He's got to stay active and prepared. If he continues to do his strengthening and stabilizing exercises, he'll be fine."

I think Sheets has set his roots in Milwaukee. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I beleive he is part owner of the Milwaukee Admirals hockey club. And he seems to be happy where he is.

Every player has a price, but I think he will be there for a while.

He and Attanasio both have a stake in the Admirals.

Good point, by the way, when thinking whether he'd leave or not I hadn't factored in his ownership of the Admirals.
