Who has the most hits among players not in the HOF?
I don't know the answer to this, I am asking everyone else. I'm not even sure this goes in the Trivia forum. Mods feel free to move this to the appropriate forum.
Note: Exclude Pete Rose because he isn't in the HOF for a different reason.

Of eligible players? Andre Dawson. After this year it will be Harold Baines though.

Well, Technically that would be Cal Ripken at 3184, but he is certain to be elected next month. Tony Gwynn also has 3000+ hits and is not in the HoF, but he will get elected next month also. The guy you probably want is Harold Baines at 2866.

Like Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn, not on the list because he's not quite yet eligible. If you wanted to just include retired guys who probably won't make it in, I'd throw Raffy Palmeiro up there.

But I'm not sure if he's HOF material, even is he gets 3,000 + hits?!
