Another newbie question....

Generally speaking, what percentage of cards do you send out do you get back, autographed or not? I was thinking of getting some specific cards to be autographed (like a team issued set or something) but I don't want to pay money for a certain card only to have it vanish. Thanks.

I don't have specific numbers, but depending on who you send to, you can expect a 40-50% return rate. However, if you do some research and follow who has returned cards signed, like in this forum, you can definately increase that %. Remember that nothing is guaranteed. Also remember not to send anything that you will be upset if it does not come back. Good luck and have fun with it.

THis is where SCN is such a great resource. You can track your successes as well as see the results that other are getting. Here's my # since I started using SCN in 2001

My Requests: 1386
My Successes: 1127
My Successes Rate: 81%


Keep in mind, I don't usually write to current players. Of those 1386 I'd say less than 50 are to current players and my % on those is considerably lower.

My success rates overall (according to SCN as well) are at 71%.

My best sport in terms of return percentage is hockey with a wonderful 83 % success rate.
