Does a guy have a card?

Reading these boards has made me want to get back into collecting and giving TTM autographs a shot. I was wondering, though, if anyone can provide me a source of information to determine whether players have a card with a particular team or have a card at all. I'm interested in finding out for lots of players but as an example, does Ray Knight have a Baltimore Orioles card? Does Esix Snead have any card? Any suggestions on how I would find this out? Thanks.

Based on early returns I'm taking it there isn't any sort of universal team checklist publication or such that could be used to track this sort of thing down? Seems sort of strange in this great Information Age in which we live.

Most players have as least card from team sets in the Minor League...Esix Snead has a couple regular cards from his days as a prospect for the Cardinals.

Try Baseball Team Checklist no 7 by Jeff Fritsch, only goes through 1995 though. You can find it on Amazon. According to my copy, Ray Knight had Oriole cards in all four 1988 sets from the major brands.

There are different ways to check to see if there are cards of certain players. I use the internet mostly and go to either www.sportlots.com or to http://www.beckett.com/store/seventhinningstretch/Shop.osi?N=17. Both will let you search for cards of players and that latter one sometimes has pictures of the actual card. Another good resource is http://www.markwing.com/baseball/. He has a checklist monster where you can search for cards by player. Hope this helps.

Use the Internet (Google search) to find if a card exists, especially old ones (PreWar).

http://www.teamsets4u.com is a pretty good place for finding who has cards with what teams. Just look up when they played for the team on one of the stat sites and the check that year (or the year after) in the cards.
