I'm watching the movie "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", from '46 with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. Though they're called the Wolves and play teams with AL names (Senators & Athletics) it sure looks like their home games are in the wooden era Polo Grounds. You can see the bluff and the home plate stands...the only thing missing is the frescoes. President Teddy Roosevelt is at a game so the timing is right. Anyone else see this movie and think the same thing? (I missed the beginning so if they call it the PG I didn't hear it.) Also anyone know of other movies that show the PG or other old time stadiums? Never seen damn yankees so I don't know if that shows Griffith. (And obviously know about Pride of the Yanks and the Babe Ruth movies & *61). Thanks!

I ran a location search at IMDB and only came up with one baseball film that was made at the Polo Grounds, Heading Home which starred Babe Ruth. This was the first of 10 films Ruth appeared in between 1920 and 1942.

IMDB gives the release date as September 19, 1920, indicating that the film was made during the season, not after. Ruth missed about a dozen games that year so he had some free time to shoot interior scenes at a studio. The film is available on video:
