Dimensions to be almost identical to GAB: RF 328, RF alley 370, CF 404

Initial impresion: Meh. I like the overhanging upper deck in LF though. (Seen in detail in larger model section top right) :clapping

I doubt it. That rendering shows a retractable roof and last I heard it was to be an open air ballpark. Just a hunch but I expect the Twins will be on the road most of April.

The photos from Ballparks.com feature the year-old original artists' renderings for the then propsed convertable dome. This photo is of the new models revealed last week.

Although it's not clear from the model in the foreground, if you check the detail of left field in the background, it looks like the upper deck of that left field pavilion will be the best seats in the house. Also reminiscent of Metropolitan Stadium, with the double-decked left field seats.

You can also see that the upper decks throughout the rest of the park will be pushed back to the edge of the last row of lower deck seats. This was to be expected.... man, those left field seats look good.

It looks like too much like the son of GAB, with a little bit of Petco, and just about every other park HOK has designed in recent years.

In about 15 or so years everyone will look back on these parks and say they all look the same much like the concrete donuts of the 70's.

Its really a shame we can't have parks that have some individuality. Why is that baseball has gone from an intimate great American pastime to a commercialized mish-mash of ads, suites and not truly caring about what the fans want.

I beleive its almost all about the paycheck now.

RLillard1, as far as left field goes, you may be right in comparison with GAB and Petco, but look again. Check the background of the picture, and look at the rendition of the left field pavilion. It may be skewed, and I may mix up the words 'late' and 'latte' when I view them on a Starbucks menu board, but I know a good seat. I just get laughed at in the foccee posh.

Well, as crude a model that is of the stadium, its exterior bears a resemblence to Petco with the exposed columns. There is also a building of some sort right in the corner of left field it may not be the same position but it is without a doubt something they picked up from Petco.

As for the pavillion in LF, trust me those would be the best seats I am not doubting that. I was more remarking to the design as a whole. Beleive me I would still sit in the best seats in the house regardless of the design.

It wasn't meant to insult anyone I just can't stand how HOK and HKS keep rehashing their same blueprints. There is a thread on here somewhere talking about the proposed design for a new Nationals park. If you look at it and picture of Ameriquest Field next to it they are nearly identical.

I love the good seats and I am always going to be an upper deck person, but it saddens me that we can't have charming parks with originality again.

RLillard1, I pretty much agree with everything you said in your last post.
Nascarfn5, I think the specs on the new model have been changed a bit from the drawing.

Tropicana Field will be one of those once everyone else has a retro Camden Yards knockoff.

That looks like a pretty good stadium, potentially. Do we know what the seating capacity is going to be?

It's missing the roof.
