Per the Journal de Montreal, 1 year 8 million + incentives.

Great signing (if healthy), those this lead the Rangers to not offer arbitration to Akinori ??? I don't think so, he might be our Setup Man, good signing all-around.

It was worth a shot. The Rangers need all the help they can get.

8 million seems awful steep for a closer. nevertheless Gange will help the Rangers.

I don't think Gagne will close, will he? IMO Otsuka is the better option to go with right now, and that's only because of Gagne's health concerns. And 8 mil is expensive, but don't forget the #'s he put up before he was hurt.

its going to be a Francisco Cordero/Akinori Otsuka situation as last year. Gange or Otsuka will start out closing and if he doesnt get the job done, they will switch.

Until one gets traded, hopefully for a starter. :hp

I agree. But I really doubt he'll stay healthy most of the year.

Im really happy about getting a new bullpen pitcher although I'd rather have gagne as the setup man

To sum this deal up, a great move at best, a total flop at worst.

Gagne says the same thing every year.."I feel better than ever," the promptly get injured. Waste of money on the Rangers' part. ANGELS IN '07!
