When he played for the Tigers, he was one of my favorites. Now that the Nats signed him, I am curious on how he will be used. Do you think he will be a starter next year? What kind of numbers do you think he will have? If he is healthy and plays next year as a starter, he may have pretty good numbers. I think he will have at least 40 stolen bases.

If Church goes, Logan will compete with Escobar for the starting CF job. He's a good defensive outfielder, and has great speed. He hasn't shown an ability to get on base consistently; his career OBP is .319 with a K/BB ratio of 2.4. He's not going to get 40 steals if he can't get on 1st often enough to steal 2nd.

Logan is a great 4th outfielder with his amazing defense and speed combo and I think our hitting coach Page is making strides with him to maybe be at least a v. LHP starting option.

I'd still take a healthy Alex Escobar over Logan in CF all the time, but that's rarely the case so he will likely see a boat load of playing time this year.

Agreed. Escobar is one of those guys like Johnson who's got the injury curse; no chronic ailments, just bad luck. I thought NJ had finally shaken his curse last year until that horrific collision.

Nook is just an amazing defensive outfielder and if he could get his bat going, he would be the next Juan Pierre...

You can't forget Johnson didn't go on the DL until about 6 games to go in the season and that was a freak collision.

He is making progress.

I hope he's ready for spring. He had to have more surgery a few weeks ago to clean up scar tissue from the first operation.

P.S. Yep, the av is Olie; the way he's been carrying the Caps, I figured he deserved a tribute.

I liked him on the Tigers too. He has to learn (or the coaches have to) when to steal and when not to steal. I saw him get picked off once or twice in '05 when he probably shouldn't have even went.

I think his abilities are better suited to the National League. He can be a 4th outfielder as it was said above. He can be a pinch runner or maybe bunt someone over.

What do the rest of you Nationals fans think of him?

still needs a lotta work for staying in the show...potential is there..but he at times, can be soooo lazy...he'll be a great 4th outfielder...

He's extremely fast but, his defense isn't that good as some here are saying. He's pretty lazy and doesn't concentrate very well. I went to a Tiger game last year and sat right beghind the dugout. It was very obvious, he was high on something.

Haha I know...he does act a little strange in the dug out. At one Tiger's game, he had on a catcher's mask and Rod and Mario were laughing at him.

He seems like a Young Energetic Guy with a lot of speed and agility, he seems like the perfect OF, defensively...

Maybe Nook needed a change of scenery from Detroit. Granted, it was only in 90 AB, but his average jumped 42 points, and his OBP 32 after joining the Nats last year.

I like him, and cant wait to see him over the course of a full season. He has the speed to be the perfect CFer for us, especially with all that room at RFK. He could also be an ideal leadoff hitter if Felipe Lopez doesnt pan out there.
