Racists might mean the Braves? There's an issue there.
Anywho...
1: Red Sox (my first favorite forever)
2: Yankees (I don't love them but they run a great team)
3: Cardinals (they have a great fanbase and their history is grossly underrated)
4: Mariners (got family in Washington State)
5: Rays (much, much more likely to actually get a chance with a non-established team)
26: Marlins (not a bad place to be but how long do you actually stay there before you're traded??!)
27: Pittsburgh (they give a guy a chance, but their history since the 80's is just too miserable)
28: Philadelphia (I don't mean anything personal to any on this board, but Philly fans have a certain reputation)
29: New York Mets (Not wild about their medical system and I've been developing a poor opinion of Mets fans recently)
30: Oakland (similar to Florida with the trades, plus a very rigid GM who'll throw you away and doom you to perpetual AAAA status if you don't match his philisophy)

I swear on my life that if the Yankees had the last pick of the MLB draft and they picked me, I wouldn't sign.
If the Red Sox signed me I WOULD sign, to be signed by any mlb team would a dream! Hell, I would still be relative close to home and be in an orginization that is compative with lot of history. I can wait until free agency to go to the Yanks, maybe more money that way :D

1. Mets - obvious choice since they're my team and I grew up a few miles away. However, I would not want to come in as a high-priced FA and face all the intense pressure from the media and fans.
2. Blue Jays - enjoy the city although I hate turf and the AL.
3. Mariners - see the above minus the turf.
4. Nationals - once again, enjoy the city and would also like to be a part of a team on the rise.
5. Giants - never been out there, but looks like a nice town with good fan support.
30. Yanks - for obvious reasons.
29. Phillies - see above.
28. Braves - see above.
27. Red Sox - just don't like Boston. Blame my last gf and some of the fans I've run into.
26. Rockies - I can see my blasphemous views causing problems with the team.

I'm not sure if it is the Braves he's referring to, but if it is, it's because of a conflict with the Indians.
Uhh.. no. Try these guys.
Which is really the issue. A lot of Native Americans consider Braves, Indians, and the Tomohawk Chop to be at least trademark violation if not outright slander.

Isn't this a bit exaggerated? Sure their rights have been violated for almost two centuries, but what harm could the tomahawk chop do?
When you talk about the Washington Redskins... That name is really offensive.

The redskins are also the most historic racist sports team in practice as well as name, not allowing a black play until they where forced to by the government!
And try there rights violated for over 5 centuries! I see where native american indains are coming from, any other possible sterotype has been gotten rid of and is frown apon eccept for the Indain! Cheif Wahoo looks to me to be the Indain version of a Sambo! Can you imagine if that was a logo for a baseball team? The Native American Indains are the only group in this country who where treated worst than African Americans!

I know that the Indians have been treated really bad. But again: Can a comic like Indian head really do harm? Sorry, maybe I am bothered by tunnel vision, but I don't get what the problem is with the Indians logo.

I don't see that much wrong with it either, but there has been alot of images, cartoons ect. that are considered strotypical and are banned that I didn't think seem as offencive as the Cleveland Indain. It's like a double standered for Indains, you can't say anything about some nationallities but you can about another. I can see how they could get mad about it!

This is a depressing thread. :(
Most
1. Rangers - This should be obvious.
2. Cardinals - Friendly media, baseball savvy fans, classic team that tends to be competitive.
3. Rockies - I love the southwest and the rocky mountains. The Rockies are the closest thing, Denver is one of my favorite cities, and my chances of hitting a home run would be a little better.
4. Dodgers - I love LA (parts of it) and southern California. This gives me a team that spends money and has history, like the Cardinals, and I don't have to try and beat the Rangers 19 times a year.
5. Mariners - Close to home.
Least
1. Phillies - I dislike the northeast, did not like Philadelphia, the fans scare me, and the team doesn't tend to compete.
2. Red Sox - At least they compete.
3. Mets - More northeast. I'd gladly play for any MLB team, but given the choice, I'll avoid the northeast.
4. Yankees - Lots of history, might get a ring, don't want to live in New York and wouldn't want to deal with the media.
5. Tigers - I don't want to live in Detroit, either.
steve rogers
02-07-2008, 10:29 AM
Most:
1. Yankees - My favorite team. ARod is my current favorite player, but he'd have to move back to shortstop and Jeter can play first, maybe his defense will improve over there.
2. Royals - 2nd favorite team. George Brett is my all time favorite player, so being Alex Gordon would be great. And I want them to return to their former greatness.
3. Pirates - I've always liked the Pirates. My favorite National League team. Also Honus Wagner is my favorite historical player. Clemente's up there too.
4. Tigers - Love the uniforms and the history.
5. Red Sox - I know as a Yankee fan I'm supposed to hate them, but I'm in CT and my father is a Red Sox fan (I got the brains from my mother, who's a Yankees fan). So I don't hate the Red Sox. Their new and obnoxious fans however...
Least:
6. Washington - Maybe if they had picked the Grays as their name.
5. Cubs - I cant stand the "lovable losers" atmosphere.
4. Devil Rays - I want to like the Rays, but I cant stand the stadium, the uniforms, or the owner.
3. Diamondbacks - Eh.
2. Rockies - More Eh.
1. Marlins - I hate the Marlins. After trading Cabrera AND Willis they should just give up now. This team should either be moved or retracted. Their owner is the worst of the worst, pocketing the revenue sharing money is inexcusable.

I'm a Yankee fan. So of course the Yankees are in my top 5.
the others are
Padres
Dodgers
Red Sox
Angels
Sure I am a Yankee fan. But I can't think of any reason to not want to play for the current champs. Thus the Red Sox. As for the others, I live in San Diego and I have a great deal of respect for the LA organizations.
Bottom 5
Cubs
Nationals
Marlins
Pirates
Devil Rays
I almost didn't want to put the Cubs there because they have great fans. But 100 years without a championship is hard to ignore.

Who is "psycho?" Ozzie?
I would play anywhere, for the minimum, all my life.
Except the Nationals OR the Loria-owned Marlins.
Under no circumstance would I play for the Nationals, but I would love to play for the Marlins only if Loria didn't own them anymore.
