Could you point me to a clip of any proffesional pitcher that throws in the mid 90's that keeps the glove in front of the body???? The closest thing i can find is Billy Wagner, but that's it. Everyone else I can find clips of lets the glove get 'behind' them in the follow through.
Don't think you looked very hard. I looked up several pitchers that hit 95 that don't let their glove fly behind them. Everyone person I searched I found an image of them with their glove in front of them after follow through except Dontrelle Willis.

(jeremy bonderman also does it but I wasn't sure if he his 95)
It's not so much of a velocity thing as it is a safety thing.... Infact, it will not decrease velocity at all if you get used to the feel.
