I don't like the fact that he might have used steroids (I would say he did), but no other choice is even close to the numbers he put up that year.

Okay, this one should be a blowout. It's easily the most clear-cut of every position. I scrounged up a couple of candidates, just for fun.

1982- Julio Cruz: .242 BA | .316 OBP | .344 SLG | 80 OPS+
22 2B | 5 3B | 8 HR | 49 RBI | 83 R | 189 TB | 49 SB

1988- Harold Reynolds: .283 BA | .340 OBP | .383 SLG | 100 OPS+
26 2B | 11 3B | 4 HR | 41 RBI | 61 R | 229 TB | 35 SB

1997- Joey Cora: .300 BA | .359 OBP | .441 SLG | 109 OPS+
40 2B | 4 3B | 11 HR | 54 RBI | 105 R | 253 TB | 6 SB

2001- Bret Boone: .331 BA | .372 OBP | .578 SLG | 154 OPS+
37 2B | 3 3B | 37 HR | 141 RBI | 118 R | 360 TB | 5 SB

Actually, since DH is a position, that should be just as much of a blowout, (though Edgar wins no matter what).

And yes, for the record, I am going with the obvious choice of Little Joey Cora (obviously this is a joke, but I know from experience, it is difficult to express the little nuances such sarcasm, across a message board).

I figured we wouldn't even do a DH poll, but if you want we can. I don't see anyone swaying even so much as one vote. With Boone, I thought some people might vote for someone just because of the possible steroid use.

The thought did cross my mind...but I still don't see it really changing the end results here.

Boone's 2001 was pretty magical.

Saying something "(insert witty comment here)", then end with [/sarcasm]. Most people who use message boards enough should get the reference, and many who are new to boards will be able to figure it out.
