--There weren't that many games we were up by 3;) . Sexson was pretty steady all year in 2005. It was last year he had such a horrible start.
My bad, I was thinking of his 2006 season. He was steady all of the 05 season.

What Mariner First Baseman had the best single season? Here are my list of nominees, feel free to vote 'Other' if you think I forgot a season.
Alvin Davis has two seasons nominated because I couldn't decide which one was better. So, Vote and discuss. I plan to do this at every position.

Olerud was consistant the whole year, and very clutch.
Sexson heated up in the last couple months, but was horrid in the early part of the year. He had some clutch hits, but got a lot of stats from when we were already up by 3 anyway.

Alvin Davis - 1989.
High OBP, High Slugging for the era -- pretty good season.

I think I have to go with Mr. Mariner's 1989 season with that teriffic .424 OBP. Though Olerud's glove and Sexon's power are hard to ignore.

Tino. Without him, the magical '95 season may have never happened.

I picked Davis and his 1989 campaign, but his 1984 was right there, too.

The old joke was a lead off walk by Alvin Davis was a rally killer, because of his lack of speed, but I'd take him on my team.
