Just wondering about peoples thoughts on Miller Park after its 5+ years of existence.

im not a brewers fan (though I like that Prince Fielder guy, he seems like he will become a really good ball player) from what I have seen of the park (pics and on TV) I think it looks really nice, one of the best parks in MLB.

It looks like it has a big feel to it, like if your in there, and the roof it closed, it just appears really tall.

Do you know who desgined it? i'd guess HoK cause they have been designing everything lately.

It is one of my Top-5 favorites in the league. I was considering choosing it in the Current Player Fantasy Draft, for my home park.

I am not big fan of Miller Park, but it is a whole lot better than it's predecessor...

You're right, when your inside the park it feels absolutely huge. And apparently it was designed by these guys:
Eppstein Uhen Architects (Milwaukee), HKS, Inc. and NBBJ
i found that at ballparktour.com

The one glaring problem with Miller Park is it size. The thing is a MONSTER, from the inside it seems really caverness. Yut still it a pretty good place to enjoy a baseball game.

I like it, but I liked County Stadium more. It does have a "big" feeling to it, but even with the roof open, it feels like you're inside. I liked the open feeling of County Stadium )probably because it was where I saw my first games). That being said, I like the other aspects of the stadium: cleaness, intimacy, etc.

I like the inside of Miller Park. One could say it is cavernous but I never felt that way. It feels more like a cathedral with its vast open spaces. Sitting down the third base line you get a nice effect off the windows on the first base side. Like light passing through a stain glass window. It gives the place an old-timey vibe. Like you are in a painting in which a game from 1880 is depicted. They put in new video scoreboards which definitely take away from that vibe and serve no real purpose other then to blow taxpayers money. My biggest gripe about the stadium they solved last year so it isn't even a gripe anymore. The traffic situation down there used to be a mess but they put in a new road that has made getting in and out simple.

The food concourses are great and with there open spaces allow for a lot of people to congregate and have a good time. Compared to other venues in the area the tickets are cheap, the ballpark is clean and well maintained, and it isn't a bad looking staidium. Not bad at all.

I forgot about those. When the yellow 620 WTMJ ads are on, the brightness is obnoxious. As said, they take much more away from the park than they add.

The video scoreboards they have on the outfield wall are kind of nice, the only problem is that they don't show all the games being played and tend to update and rotate them rather slowly. But it is a nice concept, though again it does take away from the old time feeling. If they kept up with it it would give you lots of info on a lot of games going on.

All the multi-media equiptment and all the flashy advertizings can really alienate a baseball fans experience at the game. When at the ballpark It sometimes feels like the game itself is merely a gaint facade to a elaborate marketing campaign.

Was anyone else bothered by the screen that ran above the 2nd level all the way from beyond first base to 3rd base? I wasnt that big of a fan of that and it sorta bugged me. Its so long and can kinda make it seem like a basketball arena.

That was the one I was talking about. I apolgize for not being clearer.
I remember hearing about it when they were putting it in and not understanding why they were spending so much to do it. Then I saw it for the first time and thought that they should have spent more than that to keep it out.

I belive Miller Park is one of the best stadiums in the Major Leagues. It has great service and there is nothing like going to a brewer game at miller park on a hot summer afternoon. I would have to say one negative, the concession prices are a little high, but the secret stadium sauce makes up for it.

Ya the secret stadium sauce is incredible. It is worth going to Miller just for that.
