Carlos Lee going to the Astros shows the Orioles we have no chance on landing anyone big. Lee is just the lastest of big stars turning down money, less money to go to a winner. The Orioles will now have to give up young talent in order to land a big bat for the lineup. The rookie and young guys are going to have to step it up, and win with young talent. Its going to be a long season again but oh well.

The Astros actually offered him more money, IIRC.

well according to reports from here the orioles were going to offer 90 million, but it could have been more. remember it didnt come out until later in the week the orioles offered vlad like 20 million more then what we all thought and he went to the angels. i wont be surprised if something like that comes out.
