The deal, which is believed to be pending a physical, is expected to include a club option for a fourth year.
Catalanotto, 32, played for the Rangers from 2000 to '02 before signing with the Blue Jays as a free agent.

A left-handed hitter, Catalanotto mostly platooned in left with Reed Johnson last season, batting .300 with seven homers and 56 RBIs in 437 at-bats.

The Jays' signing of free-agent designated hitter Frank Thomas to a two-year, $18 million contract last week increased the likelihood that the team would not re-sign Catalanotto.

According to numerous sources, if Gary Matthews J.r. does not re-sign with the Club, Wilkerson might be shifted to CF and Catalanotto might play LF while being the Rangers' New Leadoff Man.

Good to see Cat back. I will really like this move if we can resign G.M.J.
I would feel good about our outfield. If not I still feel better having Frank instead of just the guys we already have.

From everything I've read and seen, I don't think GMJ is coming back. I hope he does, but the Rangers and the media don't sound optimistic.

Well bailiff it looks as if everything you have read and seen proves right. GMJ is now an angel. I hope him good luck.[ not to much after all he is an angel. we have a hard enough time with them as it is.]

Our loss is the angels gain. GMJ had a great year and I'm sure he will do well with the angels. he is a good ballplayer.

I wish him well, but I am not so sure that he can or will repeat his numbers. Lets face it, Ameriquest is hitter friendly, and not playing in a pennant hunt also says alot about people who have "career" years. I would have loved it if he stayed, but not for that price. I have a sick feeling that this off season is going to be a lean one for the Rangers. Although, I do like the prospect of having DVD pitch in Arlington. It's time to see what the prospects can do.

Hold up. The cat is getting better through the years to me, nopt worse, the Cat is a great addition to this team and will make it harder for us to maybe eak out a victory against you guys this season haha. I hate Jays/Rangers games soooo much because you guys always waste us and now with the cat...you guys are unstopable.
