I did this deal because I needed a 2B ever sence I didn't resign Biggio. Ever sence Biggio's Injury towards the end of the year, the spot was filled between Whiteman, Luna & Conrad. Biggio never got his job back when he got off the DL. None of the three impressed me, so I hope the young Superstar will fill the void at 2B. "Cano will have to get use to the different atmosphere here in Houston. It can get louder and hotter, but I think after a month he will get used to it. I have had my eye on him for a while, and it's so great to actually land him."

Also in this deal, I was able to pick up SP Gustavo Chacin to replace Roger Clemens who we did not resign along with Biggio. Chacin will Join Vazquez and Burnett in the rotation. The other pitcher the Astro's currently have in the rotation - Bronson Arroyo has been rumored to be moving up north in another deal with a different team.

The Astros so far would only have four starters, but the did ok last year on a four man rotation. Though we hope to be able to pick up one more starter off the FA list who could hopefuly be our Staff Ace. And I'm sure we would love to bring him back home.

the Mets, Astros & White Sox have agreed on a three way deal (the 2nd ever in BBFTG, the other one being on the BBFTG trade deadline in the 06 season between the Astros, Nationals & Cards.)

Though, this 3 way deal isn't really going in a circle: (no pun intended - as its in a triangle, I mean that the players aren't going in a loop through out the teams)






the player the Astros are sending to the White Sox is IF prospect Andres Blanco

The White Sox have agreed to pay for 3 mil / year of Bonderman's 10 mil / year contract, for only the four year length of the deal. If the astros sign Bonderman to a longer deal ever, then the White Sox will no longer pay the three mil. It will also be terminated if the Astros Trade Bonderman

Note: the White sox are also paying for 2 mil of Javier Vazquez contract for the 07 season while he is on the Astros, it will be terminated if the Astros sign him to a long term deal, or trade him, this price the White Sox pay will be terminated.
