What should the A's be called when the building of new stadium in Fremont is completed? (Please Vote).

A. Fremont A's
B. East Bay A's
C. Golden State A's
D. Remain "The Oakland A's."

These are the names that have been tossed around The A's Organization so far. My Vote wold be "D." Fremont is located in Alameda County, where Oakland is the County Seat, and name changes cost a lot of money. Remaining "The Oakland A's" would cost this ball club nothing.

Well much like the Angels, callign them the Los Angelous Angels and they play in Anaheim jsut isn't very cool. I think unfortunently they should change the name of the Oakland A's or maybe even to the California Athletics, why not.

Yeah, but I just dont like the whole Golden State thing.. Imagine the New Jersey Nets being the Garden State Nets... doesnt have the same ring to it, IMO.

In that case they should drop the "valley" and change the name to Implants. I can only imagine the new uniform jersey design for that one.

This has also been my point. I think calling your city name "Golden State" just sounds dumb. Even a bit pompous. I would love to see the Royals or the Cardinals move interstate and call themselves the "Show-Me State" Royals/Cardinals. What a freaking joke.

Nice, I was think of making a thread similar to this. I actually like The Alameda Athletics, it has nice alliteration and maybe they could come up with a snazzy new logo. If they do change from Oakland to "Silicon Valley," I suggest a new name altogether, such as the Silicon Valley Superconductors.

You know, maybe calling them the California Somethings is a good idea...when I was a kid, I had no idea where Oakland was. Even now, Oakland is just a place across from SF and next to Berkeley to me, I have no feel for the character of the place.
I actually like "Bay Area Somethings" better than "California Somethings", but I guess that there are a lot of Bay Areas around the country.

If they're going to be silicon implants instead of silicone, you'd better make sure that it's in a sandy form instead of a pure solid crystal...boy, you think that those silicone ones are too hard, wait until you feel 'em with a hunk of pure silicon in there.

I live in Fremont, but I chose to keep it as is. The Oakland A's works for me. Oakland is less that a half hour away anyway.

They should remain Oakland Athletics. Since Lew Wolff has said that the new name would include 'Fremont', I guess we'd be stuck with 'Oakland Athletics of Fremont'. Pretty lame, I know, but I guess this is one way of increasing the likelihood of the city of Fremont cooperating with the A's ballpark plans.
