Hey...first post here and hopefully not my last.
We're doing a project on my website that requires a good photo from the former home of the Twins, Metropolitan Stadium.
I need a photo that is centered behind home plate and taken from the upper deck. I have been doing a lot of searching and found a few that were close to what I needed but haven't found that perfect one yet.
Please let me know if you might have something I can use. Thanks

Wow, what a view. I wonder if there's another arial photo from Modern times? I'd like to know how much space the "Mall of America" takes up? I know somewhere in the mall the home plate from Metropolitan Stadium is there. I just want to know if the mall takes up the whole complex where the stadium/met center used to be or is some of the parking lot that used to be for Twins/Vikings/North Stars fans now used for mall shoppers?

Do you want to look it up on google maps, or should I? I have a lot of interest in this park because I was there as a kid, and I've always loved the fact that it was demolished solely for the fact that it was haunted. But don't let me stand in your way. You can go ahead and look it up if you want. I'll wish all the best to you and your family in advance.

Somewhere on this site there are photos of the present day location of home plate, as well as a picture of a seat on a barren concrete wall that marks the spot where Harmon Killebrew first encountered the entity.

The left field double-decked bleachers were on the east side of the stadium and the Met center hockey arena was at the north edge of the parking lot, so you can see how the mall is.
The bottom aerial photo might be upside down (south is up).
Looks like you could fit 2 or 3 stadiums in the footprint of the mall. Camp Snoopy, in the middle, is where the home plate and HR chair markers are.

The chair overlooks the log ride.

That is exactly the picture I was talking about. I've also seen a photo or two of the home plate marker. I was there once, and though it's generally considered to be a crummy ballpark, I was impressed with it during that initial encounter. Like most of the women I've known. It was colorful on the outside and haunted on the inside.
On a brighter note, I'm happy to see that 'log ride' slipped through the censors. I may use that very term in future posts, but I'll be sure and give credit where it's due.

Thanks Elvis! Wow, Incredible the size of that mall. Gotta make it up to Minnesota to visit that place...maybe when the new Twins stadium opens.
