Assuming that we're reading the same page (http://www.baseballsoftballuk.com/bsukcalendar.php), it says Sat 7-Mon 16 Baseball European Championships. The first date is the starting date and the second one is the ending one. If it was to end on Sunday, it'd say Sun 15.
We are reading the same page. But the - means to/bis as far as I know.
So IMO it is bis Montag den 16. July.

Yank, it seems to be a linguistic problem. To/Bis means the ending date, not the day before.
Either that or the organisers are incredibily daft for arranging a tournament to end on a Monday.

Has anyone found a website for this yet? I'm interested in attending games and would like to start shopping for air tickets but can't seem to find info on where in Spain it will be.

I am not sure, but I bet it will be near Barcelona at Villadecans.

I thought (I might be wrong now) that the next one will be in 2008.

padday, according to Wikipedia:
The European Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Europe, governed by the Confédération Européenne de Baseball (CEB). It is held every other year in odd-numbered years.

I thought that the last one was in 2004 in Germany. Or maybe it was just the B pool.
Well anyway it is on in Barcalona in September although I'm a bit confused because the European Baseball website said September 2006 though just above it it said "Tournaments in 2007:".
Probably just a mistake.

The last one was in 2005 in the Czech Republic.
Back in 2001 it was held in Bonn, Germany.
Check out www.baseballsoftballuk.com
According to that site the European Championship will be played from July 7 - July 15 in.... Barcelona, Spain.

Thanks for the reply. It'd be unlikely for it to be in July in Spain because of the heat. Also, it'd be quite unlikely for it to end on a Monday.
I've emailed the contact person on the calendar for clarification.

so now that the website (http://www.eurobaseball2007.com/euro07_ENG.htm) and calendar (http://www.eurobaseball2007.com/Calendari_01_eng.pdf) are up, will anyone else be going? I'll be there for all of it (any excuse to go to Spain).

Maybe the next one if Ireland manage to get promoted in the next B pool championship. Anybody know anything about when or where that's set to be held?

Can someone please explain the difference between all of these C.E.B Tournaments?
European Cup San Marino (SMR) June 12th - 16th
Qualifier for C.E.B. Cup Rybnik / Zory (POL) June 12th - 16th
Qualifier for Cupwinners Cup Stockholm (SWE) June 12th - 16th
Qualifier for European Cup - Pool 2 Abrantes (POR) June 12th - 17th
C.E.B. Cup Karlovac / Zagreb (CRO) June 13th - 17th
Cupwinners Cup Hoofddorp (NED) June 13th - 17th
Qualifier for European Cup - Pool 1 Blagoevgrad (BUL) June 13th - 17th
European Championship Barcelona (ESP) September 7th - 16th
I believe the last one is the European Olympic Qualifier, but I am not sure.
Here is the link I found them on:

Whoa, those Europeans love their cups right!
I think the European Cup is the tournament for the best clubs, in other words, it's the premier club competition.
As for the CEB Cup and Cup-winners Cup, i'm guessing that they are for teams that were not good enough for the European Cup, like consolation competitions, as the standards in Europe vary greatly between countries.
As for the European Championships down at the bottom, that is played every two years between the best twelve nations.
Check out this link, this guy has done a lot of work! (http://utopia.knoware.nl/~hwede/)

Ok, it's a little clearer, but I noticed some league's seasons are still in progress. Were this year's tournament teams determined last year?
Which are the A countries and B countries?

I don't know when these tournaments were determined.
A countries are the following: The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, Czech Republic and Germany.
B Countries are the others, that are not participating in the A tournament. For example Greece, Russia, Finland, Switzerland and Bulgaria (didn't know that they were playing baseball overthere).
Note: When a club of one of these countries finishes last in this tournament, the country will be demoted to the B-Championship.
It not a big deal when a club plays such a tournament and their competition is still running. Most of the time they play some more games than the others before they start participating in those tournaments. Games overhere are mainly played during the weekend.

Thanks for the information. I found that all of last year's winners are in this year's tournaments. The other teams appear to qualify by placing 1st and/or 2nd their respective leagues. :crazy Am I the only one that finds this a bit complex?

Yes and no.
As long as the team from your country doesn't finish last in the A-tournament, your country will be represented in the A-tournament the next year. So that means for example that Dutch champion of 2005, Neptunus Rotterdam finished second in the A-tournament of 2006. So that means that Holland is represented in the A-tournament. But in this case by the champions of 2006, Kinheim Haarlem.
As soon as a team finishes last, the country that it represented has to play the B-tournament in the next year, to get back in the A-tournament in the year AFTER that. For example when the representatives of Germany, Solingen Alligators, finishes last this year, this years German champion (for example: Mannheim Legionäre) will play the B-tournament in 2008 to get Germany back in the A-tournament of 2009.
Furthermore: The winner of this years tournament will have the right to defend it's title. That's why Italy has two representatives. Last year's European Cup winner, was a different one than the Italian champion of 2006.

Big surprise at the European cup. Not any Italian team in the finals.
The Rouen Huskies beat ASD Rimini in the semies 4-3.
Dutch champion Kinheim from Haarlem beat San Marino 7-0 to advance to the finals.
In this finals Kinheim beat the Huskies 3-1 for the first European title in their history. :dance
As we may expect, Neptunus Rotterdam, won the Cupwinners cup by beating San Boi from Spain.

Yes. If Neptunus from Rotterdam/Holland will be champion this year, they will go to the European Cup. But Kinheim will be there as well to defend their title. So two at most.

Sorry YBF, I phrased my question wrong. - I mean restictions on the number of foreign players that a club can play.
For example, must a Dutch club playing in a European cup play a certain number of Dutch players, or could they field a team of nine non-Dutch?
I ask because British clubs rarely play in European cups, and as our best teams are full of foreign players, I was thinking that might be the reason?

There are some restrictions, but to be honest, I don't know how many foreigners are allowed.

Only 3 americans (or extra UE) are allowed.
