Jim Tracey

Was wondering how former Dodgers mgr, Jim Tacey, is perceived in
Pittsburgh ? was this a good hiring, replacing MAC ? did he get handed
a bill of goods, hence the 14th straight losing season ? will there be a
good improvement in 07? or will Tracey end up on the unemployment
line ? would Ken Macha, been a better choice ?

speaking of Mac, he just took over as hitting coach for the Tigers.

I think Tracy was the right choice for manager. Of course it was rediculous for anyone to think he would show up and turn this team around in one season, but theres much reason to be optimistic for next year. The pirates had the best win percentage in the NL after the allstar break. They have a good young core to build on with favorable contracts so I would expect to see the Pirates improve. I mean, theres nowhere to go but up...
