That's not a very impressive list, not many players to get excited about.

Chad Bradford is a good reliever, Dodgers could use him. I bet someone overpays for Weaver because of a few good games in the post-season.

I could see the Mets signing Soriano and Zito.

I still say that the Nats retain Soriano, they HAVE too...they need to put a decent product on the field for the new park. Zito I say either Mets or Yankees. Gagne will be an interesting player to see where he'll go, as will Sean Casey. I see Erstad being resigned. Ted Lilly, Jason Marquis, Greg Maddux, and Jeff Weaver are very interesting FAs. Carlos Lee I see being resigned by Texas, and Julio Lugo I see going to Boston. I still wonder what will happen to Juan Pierre, there are some teams that need a lead off hitter and Center Fielder that are in Boston(hint hint), that may be interested in him. Aramis Ramirez will probably go to LA (Dodgers or Angels of Anaheim) or maybe even NYY if the Yankees trade A-Rod; hell he might even stay in Chicago. Schmidt will probably go too the NY team that doesn't get Zito; or Boston. Suppan too will also get a HUGE contract somewhere beacuse of his post season. I have no idea where Kerry Wood will end up.

I'd say that there are about ten-twenty players who will make an impact somewhere.

I think we could put a better product on the field with a solid rotation and more tool players than one overpriced LF in his 30s.

You really make it sound like hes old. He's 30 and in his prime.

Someone overpaying for Weaver? I think Arte Moreno already did it last January.

But his best piece of hitting comes from leadoff position and he'll be 37 by end of his deal. By then he will have even less defensive ability than before and can't hit leadoff no more.

I'd rather have a nice cheap Ryan Church or top prospect Kory Casto in LF--middle of the order guys to bat after our solid top of Lopez-???-Zimmerman-Johnson-Kearns; spend a little money on a good CF to fill the gap at 2nd in the order; and add a hella lot of pitching. CF Gary Matthews Jr. and batting 2nd, an ace Jason Schmidt or Barry Zito at the top of my rotation, and a 3rd starter Gil Meche, Kip Wells or Ted Lilly--that's where I throw my $120 mil. Add it John Patterson 2nd starter, 4th starter Mike O'Connor, 5th starter Colin Ballester/Beltran Perez/Shawn Hill and I think we have a legit NL wild card team.

By the end of what deal?

The 7 year/$120 mil deal he is seeking.

The Nationals dont want to spend that money on 30, even though he is in his prime right now, year old guy, they have some good young guys and they're looking like they're willing to give up a few years of winning to develope them. I dont honestly think Soriano alone will bring in much more revenue than without him, no one wants to see a loser, no matter who is on the team. Soriano will sign with an NL East team though, that's my prediction, either the Mets or the Phillies.

Zito I think will be in one of two states, California or New York.

Kerry Wood, I wouldnt be surprised to see the cubs try him for a year in the bullpen, if chooses to take a salary cut, he doesnt deserve the huge contract I expect he will want, Suppan, same thing, I see him as a number four or maybe a three starter who will want number two or maybe even number one money.

I think Ramirez will most likely be an Angel, although I wouldnt be surprised to see him in Philly if they dont get Soriano, or back with the cubbies.

Julio Lugo, I think, is almost a lock to go to Bean Town.

Carlos Lee will most likely be in texas, although theyre should be many teams interested in the slugger.

I think the most interesting free agent will be Matsuzaka however, it will be interesting to see who bids the highest just to negotiate with him. I'd say probably a New York team. If that's the case I hope he's a complete bust.;).

Another interesting name, Akinori Iwamura, the japanese thirdbaseman from the Swallows over in Japan, the Phillies are talking about making a strong push for him, the Redsox, Indians, and Padres are also said to be interested in him. He could be another interesting guy to watch.

Wow. You couldn't be more wrong.

Just off the top of my head:
Angels don't want Erstad back, Gagne wants to stay with the Dodgers and will take a hometown discount (decent base, and rest will be incentives), Aramis wants to stay in Chicago, and Dodgers really don't need the fat third baseman, Zito might very well go to a So Cal team (he's from LA, and the Dodgers need a lefty starter),

In all fairness to me I said that Zito will end up in NY, which it is abut 85% likely that he will.

Aramis optined for FA (even though HE had an option with the cubs) so it was only natural to assume that he would go to a different team. It wasn't untill today that he said he wanted to stay a Cub, seems kind of odd to me but what ever.

Also the Dodgers have less of a chance at Zito than Oakland does.
