i think it is because they ran out of space behind the outfield walls

lol, really? I never knew that! so does the away team get the one in play im guessing?
That would REALLY make for home field advantage.
Yes, the visitors have the on-field bullpen. Those of you who have been there know that it is crammed into the downtown area so there wasn't as much room for the park as would be ideal (much like ATT park in San Francisco). OK park, much better than the Murph (which had concrete infields), but not as good as the others in the National League West (except maybe Arizona which I haven't been to).
One nice thing about the on-field bullpen is that you can get great views of the closers of the visitors. ;) We had seats literally 15 feet from where Gagne was throwing during his famous streak. A lot more fun than watching him in the bullpen at Dodger Stadium. No autograph, though!

I find that this park resembles Petco immensely:
Fifth Third Field - Toledo (http://www.mcmas.net/fod/toledo.html)
Looks like a lovely minor league stadium. I would love to see a game there.

yea, I mentioned this in the best AAA ballpark thread.
I like it a lot too. I really like that little nich in the OF, between those 2 buildings. I like how they didnt rip down the 2 old abandoned bulidings, but kept them and built around them.
