Maybe the Cards should send out Christmas cards to the:

Angels for DFA'ing Weaver and overpaying the overated Orlando Cabrera and letting go of Eckstein

Indians for trading Belliard,

Astros for DFA'ing Wilson,

Blue Jays for giving up on Carpenter (a Carp/Holladay staff would look pretty good right now)

Spivey, Bigby and Ponson for not playing much

The River City Rascals for letting the Cards take away Kinney (talk about rags-to-riches)

Pedro Martinez for never being able to pitch

The national media guy who claimed the Tigers will "win the series in 3 games"
(From my understanding, this realy fired up the team)

Todd Jones for saying how much he disliked Jeff Weaver
The list could go on!

Carlos Beltran, for not swinging that 0-2 pitch with the bases loaded with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th of game 7.

Endy Chavez, for not trying to rob Yadier Molina's 9th inning homer.

Placido Polanco, the ALCS MVP, for being 0 for 17 in the World Series.

And the Detroit Pitching, for making those dozen errores that scored over 8 unearned runs.

How about the Atlanta Braves:

1. Smoltz shuting out the Stros on the last day, and

2. Trading Adam Wainright for J.D. (Just Disabled) Drew

Me too, I always thought Wainwright would be a stud.
