From Rotoworld.com:

Chris Duffy - OF - PIT
According to the Palm Beach Post, Chris Duffy, Willy Taveras and Matt Kemp are high on the list of center fielders the Marlins plan to pursue this winter.
The paper also mentions Rocco Baldelli and Elijah Dukes of the Rays. Red Sox prospect David Murphy has been talked about in the past. The Marlins have plenty of young pitching to offer up and could also make Mike Jacobs available.

Jacobs and Olson or Sanchez would work for me.

oh definitly, the bucs have so many options at CF next season and we all know how big of a sucker Littlefield is when it comes to young pitching. I wouldnt doubt/mind if that sort of trade went down.

I don't think you guys would get Olsen or Sanchez for Duffy. Duffy isn't a good player, so why would the Marlins give up a top pitching prospect, especially one's who have performed extremely well at the major league level, for a mediocre OFer?

What are you talking about, Duffy isn't A MEDIOCRE CF?
He can hit! He can run! He can play defense!

If the Marlins are going to trade Sanchez or Olsen, they could get a top player for either of them.

he only played half a season but you gotta realize this kid's talent. Hes a sure glove outfielder and steals more than a kid in a candy store. At the end of the season he finished 24/26 or something like that...thats amazing and probably wouldve had the most stolen bases in the league if he played the whole season. He was a huge part in why the Pirates had a strong finish.

He had 18 RBI all season -- 14 in the second half when he played regularly. He might be a speedster with a good glove, but there's no way he would command a top prospect, mid-level at best -- at best.

he batted in the leadoff spot...not many RBI's come with that position.

Tell that to Jose Reyes.

LOL Jose Reyes is one in a million. Theres no comparison between him and Duffy...theres no comparison between him and any player for that matter. But i'll argue that Duffy wouldve had just as many stolen bases if he played all season.

He wasn't on pace for 64 SB any way you look at it, so that not really true.

The whole point it, you aren't going to get a pitcher like Sanchez for a player like Duffy. Not gonna happen.

All of these leadoff hitters had at least 50 RBI, most of them had a lot more than 50 RBI:
Chone Figgins, Jason Kendall, Marcus Giles, Rafael Furcal, Randy Winn, Grady Sizemore, Hanley Ramirez, Jose Reyes, Brian Roberts, Jimmy Rollins, Gary Matthews Jr., Kevin Youkilis, David DeJesus, Curtis Granderson, and Johnny Damon

I understand that Duffy didn't play a full-season, but he did have over 300 AB's. In those 314 AB's, he still only produced 18 RBI.

he may not have been on pace for 64 SB but he was 26/27 in half a season which is pace for over 50...not bad. And i never said he would bring in a pitcher like Sanchez, all i said was that he has a ton of potential and dont be surprised if he can bring in a Sanchez-like pitcher in 2 more years. The talent is there, he's just gotta have a breakout season. I only hope the bucs give him the opportunity to play CF next year.

You didn't really say that anywhere, you seemed to agree with the first post. His year last season reminds me of Juan Pierre, who is the most overrated OFer in baseball. I'm not saying that Duffy won't post a better OBP (since he did in the minors), but if he continues with a OBP lower than .330 and doesn't hit for power, I would call him mediocre.

LOL well if he keeps his low OBP with no power I think EVERYONE will call him mediocre....

Im curious to see what becomes of him next season. I dont expect to see a Hanley Ramirez, Chase Utley, Jose Reyes-type season out of him, but definitley a significant improvement. Time will tell.

Don't laugh so much, Juan Pierre is on the verge of scoring a $30 million, 3 year deal. Not bad for a guy with one of the worst OF arms, average OBP, and no power...

Juan Pierre is a scrub and in my opinion is one of the most overpaid, overrated players in the league next to barry bonds...hes like a jeromy burnitz without the paycheck

Yeah, what a scrub.. a career .300 hitter and someone whose career OBP is HIGHER than the league average. Oh and he averages 52 SB per 162 games. Maybe overrated, but a scrub he is not.

this season he had 3 HR's, 40 RBI, and 87 Runs.....kinda makes those 58 SB's kinda worthless doesnt it?
