I posted this in the Dodger Forum, but it might be better served here. I am looking to find out if the Atlantic of Brooklyn team that started in 1857 and played until 1882 is in any way related to the Brooklyn Atlantics that started in the AA in 1884 that went on to become the Dodgers.
I read that Atlantic tried to get into the AA in 1882 after playing Independantly since 1876. They were denied. Then in 1884 the Brooklyn Atlantics were admitted to the AA. So it seems to me that this team is potentially the same team. Just wondering. Thanks
