While I am not asking for any commentary, I just want everyone to note that it was on October 24, 1972, 34 years ago today, that WE lost OUR JACKIE ROBINSON. He was only 53 years of age, and left US much too soon!

Nearly unfathomable that he died so young.

It is an old saying that the "Good die young". Certainly true in
Jackie Robinson's case!
A great American and a real hero.

Thanks for all the great comments, everyone.
OUR JACKIE's mind and spirit were as great as they ever were in 1972, it was just that his body was so battered he couldn't hold on any longer.

Jackie Robinson was, quite simply, the most important player in the history of the game.
