Alan Trammel. signed a two year contract to be the bench coach
of the hapless Chicago Cubs, under Sweet Lou....Should be interesting
Tram under Lou..it'll be strange seeing Tram NOT in a Detroit uniform

I'm glad for Tram. Although he was in over his head in the D, he deserved much better.

Yeah, it'll be strange to see Tram in a Cubs uni, but it was also strange to see him in a San Diego jersey a few years back too. I'm really happy for him. And now he's got a great mentor to learn from in Sweet Lou. Sweet Lou used to be his double-play combo, now he's his manager (different Lou's, of course, but both sweet).

In a perfect world, he would have had the time to learn how to manage a club, as opposed to being thrown right into a bad situation. I am glad to hear this news, Tram deserves the opportunity to prove himself as a manager, and this is the right step as opposed to taking another managers job straight off.

Tram has been known to be thrown out of ballgames, but I wonder if Lou is going to teach him how to do it properly and give the fans their money's worth.

Tram's got years ahead of him in this game. He'll be with the new Cubs, who already have as much pre-season hype as the current Yankees, and he'll instinctively hit the dirt when Lou Piniella cruises through Dealey Plaza. He'll learn what not to do. #1. Bobby Higginson...

Guess Leyland "the quitter" will follow Tramell and Piniella their in a few years and get all the credit again.

Trammel always played the game right, so he'll be a much needed fit in Chicago. He still plays sometimes, on my RBI baseball game....lol.

Hey Keith Hernandez, was there a second spitter, or were you the sole spitter? We need the mystery solved once and for all!

Oh that's at least a three laugher on the laughing scale. Yada, Yada, Yada, Blah, Blah Blah; Kosmo strikes again.

Sins of the past . . .
And near future? Never can tell with a quitter, they are hard to figure out at times. Who knows, he may want to spend more time with his family again in 2007.

aw c'mon, the past is just that...let it go...I mean, how many times have the
Rockies ever been to the post season..? how many re building modes have
you guys been in ? No one knows why Leyland quit..maybe he was burned
out...heck, at least he had class enough to walk away..and leave all that
money..instead of doing a half baked job--and then getting fired..costing
you guys whatever monies was left on his contract....
and since Leyland's quitting...how many skippers and the overall record
has it been in Denver ? face it, and I'm not one to gloat...the Rockies
don't have a plan, don't trade well, don't have a decent farm..and the result
is how many years of sub standard baseball out west.....?
Trammel didn't do a good job in his last season....the team quit on him...
hence Leyland came in and REAPED the windfall...could any other skipper
done what Leyland has done with Detroit ? maybe ..may not..
but give the guy a frigging break....jeez...

Well, Tram will get a chance to learn from Lou..and improve his skills, so
if and when the chance to skipper again comes up, he'll be ready..and
with Lou, who knows how he'll pan out in Chicago..Lou might have a
great three year tenure there..or he'll end up leaving...
Tram will be a good fit in Chicago...despite working with another club inna
re building mode.....
