Ever see the picture of Jill Russell, the hooker that Neagle got caught with?

Why would anyone risk their marraige and career over this. Had to be a 10 beer decision.

So neagle made a mistake quite some time ago. Let's leave the tasteless and slanderous remarks for another board. Thanks.

Why? Neagle sure didn't leave the Rockies his remaining salary.

What does that have to do with anything? None of us know Neagle enough to pass jugdgement. Your post was fine, Old Sweater. The AIDS comment by CROM is absolutely uncalled for.
It's an old subect anyway, which has been discussed on these boards.

I just can't show no respect for Neagle. His wife just had twins, he stunk it up for the Rockies and got the remaining 19 million of his contract before he left. I believe the whole Jill Russell thing was to get out of his contract and collect his remaining salary. I mean, come on, Jill Russell was the one who told the police officer what was going on. How often does a hooker volunter information like that?

Ouch.
If that is true, and I don't know one way or another, then yeah, that's a very shady thing to do.

I've noticed we've been lacking in that category the past few months.

I don't really agree, but there's only so much that can be done without going overboard.
If you're seeing problems, rs, please know you can tell us.

I'll let you know when I see it.

It's nothing absurd but I have noticed it corresponding with the definite spike in new membership.

Actually, pms probably would be the best place for that. ;)
But you started it.
:dance

Anyway, besides Neagle's contract issues, what other fallout was there from this?

No other fallout from the Neagle incident that I recall. He signed a minor league contract with the D-Rays, I don't think he ever made the majors tho.

We havn't had a winning season here since the Rockies signed Neagle (51.5) and Hampton (141.5) for the 2001 season. The Rockies were 82-80 in 2000. It still will be some time before the Rockies recover from that foolish investment. On the plus side of shelling out193 mil. for about 40 wins from Hampton and Neagle, our farm teams have been rated in the top 5 in polls and I think for real this time the Rockies will finish above .500 in 2007.

Wasn't it Hampton who signed saying he did it for his family and the school system out there? How quickly things change when you stop being effective.
With the West being the way it is, there's no reason to not believe the Rockies have a good shot.

Yeah. lol

Hampton claimed that he signed with the Rockies because they had a better school system, and not for the money.

Neagles wife is from Morrison Colorado, Neagle said that was the main reason for his signing with the Rockies.

Neagle had 19 wins and Hampton had 21 for a total of 40. 193 million for 40 wins and 5 years of eating those contracts.
