I voted no. I always have defended Hurdle but I think it is time for a new manager.

It's true. Americans don't vote often enough.

Hurdle has quite a resume as a hitting instructor.

As a manager, well, not so good.

Probably be better for him and the Rox to make a change.

I can see him coaching down in Florida somewhere.

Rumor has it that if The Rockies don't finish at least .500 this year both Hurdle and O'Dowd are down the road.

I heard that same rumor two years ago.

Right before they gave him an extension !!!

They like him cuz he dont complain about the payroll.

And he has great personal relationships with the ownership. He has been a Rock for a long time. He has very strong ties to some of the owners; family issues.

Yeah, I've told people that he had a picture of the Monforts doing something they shouldn't have.

Winning %
Baylor .483
Bell .465
Hurdle .447
Leyland .444

I wouldn't go to far as say a lot better. I just don't like the fact that Hurdle has a in job with the Monforts. Bell was O'Dowds sacrificial goat for the Hampton and Neagle blunder.

Glad to see another Rockies fan in the forum.

What I want to see is the payroll figures for each year and each coach. Then ratio those out.

Betcha Hurdle's is the best !!!

Give Hurdle the same lineup and payroll that Baylor had !!!

Hurdle has done OK with the talent that he's been provided. I vote we keep Hurdle, but dump O'Dowd.

I say we sell the team to somebody that will actually put out some cash

Let's face it, Clint Hurdle is a horrible manager. He hasn't had one winning season with the Rockies. Last year was his best year, with a mediocre 76-86 record. The previous 2 years were the worst since their first season, with 95 losses in 2005 and 94 losses in 2004. The Rockies have the talent to make up a great team, they just need someone who knows how to manage. Enter Joe Girardi, who is not only an excellent manager, but also was one of the fan favorites while he was here, and he was the Rockies first catcher. He guided a similar team of young players in Florida to a 78-84 record, almost leading them to the playoffs, and winning the manager of the year award. All this with what was the lowest payroll in baseball. What better person is there to lead the Rockies to October? Unfortunately, we are stuck with Hurdle for what appears to be at least another 2 years. When Girardi does decide to manage again, and he will, the Rockies ownership will be too cheap to try and get him. Most likely he will go to the Cubs or the Yankees, who will both probably need a new manager. Those are two teams that aren't afraid to spend money. Hurdle is certainly a fitting name for Clint, because he is the main obstruction to the Rockies success.

Just 33%, Hurdle is in with O'Dowd and the Monforts.

I think managers are over rated and conveneit scapegoats for teams problems. A few years back, Joe Torry could do no wrong, now he's a bum. He still has an amazing line up to work with, and their pitching concerns are just this years excuse. Pinnella, Leyland, Baker, Johnson, Cox...have all only been as good as the team that was given them. I think trying something different in the GM position would be more effective. Dealin Dan has been there longer than any of them, and has never been able to put together a winning combo. The Monforts have rarely given him a chance.
