Can anyone tell me...

In the History of playoffs has there ever been a year where every playoff series was a sweep?

I highly doubt it, but I thought you kind folks from the history forum might be able to tell me one way or the other.

Good day!

Yes it has happened lots of times.

First time being 1914.

If you mean in the multiple playoff system then no. Though they have come close. The first time they had more playoffs then just a world series they played 1 game extra beyond the minimum. The same goes for the second time ever.

1969 and 1970 one loss each in the world series and two sweeps in the LCS's.

1976 ALCS went to game 5 otherwise the bare minimum.

1989 one loss in each LCS and that is it.

1990 two losses in the NLCS and that is it.

After that we go to the 3 levels and the closest we get is in 2005 when we have a total of 3 extra games played beyond the minimum. 1 extra in the ALCS, and two extra in the NLCS.

Have no idea about Hockey and Basketball.
