I believe that's what the O's might take into consideration. They may want to bring Moose back. I'd take a gamble on Foulke. Just ease his way back to good form, 2004 form. Jermaine Dye can help the O's. He was MVP potential this year. Juan Pierre can be great on the basepaths.

There's a lot of age on that list. The O's, like most teams, would be better off concentrating on their farm system.

The general opinion in the Sun, PressBox, and other sports media here is that Zito, Lee and Soriano are the ones that we SHOULD try and get, but the ones we MIGHT try and get are Schmidt, Payton, and Daisuke Matsuzaka.

 Holy Moses, now I'm thinking they could sign a lot of top tier free agents.

I would love to get Mussina back. However I doubt he returns while Angelos is owner. Angelos insulted him so much so that he left for the Yankees. I doubt he wants to come back to him. Personally I'd like to see us sign a bunch of reliable AL bullpen pitchers (DeJean and Kline were NL guys and didn't work out well at all).

Also I wouldn't count on the MASN money. Angelos has said every year that he will spend lots of money on the team. However it never happens. I wouldn't be surprised if he pocketed all the money.

I wouldn't trade Fiorentino, but other than that, that list is great.

The one guy the O's should be concentrating on is none other than the most hyped rookie-to-be in the MLB: Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Erik, Forget it. The Yankees already won that #$&*& battle. There isn't a daggone way we are going to get him.

Or, other people's farm system. The areas where the O's need help....are the areas where our farm system is week (outfield, power, etc). The players that we have up and coming that will be ready for 07 and 08 (from the farm) are not players that can fill our major gaps (LF, 1B, power). Talk to us in 2009 and we'll have some good people to talk about.....but the next to year our farm system is a bit thin in that area (hence the O's fans attraction to the free agent list).

Millar only had a one year deal with us. I don't think he was resigned (unless he was and I didn't read about it...which is totally possible).

Newhan I'm fine with ditching (as long as we sign Patterson to a long term deal and shore up CF).

I'm unsure about Fiorentino. If we sign a LF (SORIANO!!!!) then I say tade him. Plus, we've got Reimold in the wings who is going to be better.

Byrdak...get rid of him. Can't stand him. Waste of space.

I think giving up on Penn is a mistake. I remember giving up on another young pitcher named Curt Schilling who had an equally disasterous start for the Os. Give the kid another chance to see what he can do, if he turns out to he quad-A....then we send him on his way, but I don't want to make that mistake again (and again, and again)
