Watching him throw those final pitches, seeing how hard he was trying even though his shoulder is gone...It was pretty heartbreaking seeing a major league player going down like that. At the same time, I have a newfound respect for him. I never followed the Twins much and so I am not too familiar with his career, but at his peak, Radke's number looked really nice. Overall he had a short, yet above average career. I wish him much luck in his future endeavors, see ya Brad! :waving

Radke is one of them pitchers that don't/didn't get talked about as much as they could. He played for the Twins during some abysmal years but was a Twins leader throughout. He had an option of joining Boston a few years back but declined due to his love for the fans and team in Minnesota.

Radke was a game and a darn good pitcher. Maybe I'm being selfish, but I hope he changes his mind and decides to return for one more year.

#22 - Great Pitcher but a better person.

He deserved a better exit than the one he had.

He sure had his struggles (1st inning HR's anyone...), but he was the best money pitcher the Twin's have had since Jack Morris. His game 5 performance against the A's in the '02 LDS will always ensure him a warm place in Twins fans hearts.

Anyone think Radke might one day come back? Perhaps a year off to get healthy and in a good frame of mind will bring him back to the game? He's only 34, and despite his arm troubles, he has been a better than average pitcher the past few years. I'd like to see him return if he can do it.

I personally think that Radke's departure was all too much quiet if you really think about it. I would like to see him give it another shot.

It definately was too quiet. I didn't even know what happened to him until now.

I have lot of respect for Radke... He was one the most under-rated and un heralded pitcher of his generation, he for a long while was really something to watch. He was so consistant for so many years, pitching day in and day out. To bad he went out in such fashion as he did. Truly an un-sung hero.

Brad Radke was a solid major league pitcher for a long time. He pitched well for horrible teams before the organization turned things around in 2001.

Radke could have left but elected to return to Minnesota and pitched in pain quite often, particularly his final year. That performance in the playoffs against Oakland was difficult to watch because you knew it was coming to an end. And the tears in his eyes in the dugout got to many Twins fans, whether they'll admit it or not.

The man wasn't a Hall of Famer and wasn't even the best pitcher on his team (Santana), but I'd take a rotation comprised of five Brad Radke's any day of the week.
