What do you guys think of the stat?
I think it's a good power/speed stat, however I think that it isn't a good way to measure offensive performance from a stand point of players that are singles hitters. For example Derek Jeter is one of the best players in baseball, but as of this year he's been a singles hitter who's been geting on base and driving in runs, but his SECA isn't that high relative to another player that has less offensive ability such as Grady Sizemore (this isn't even up for debate), but for power hitters SECA is a great stat that also takes speed into account. Whaddya think?

Pretty much a waste of time considering that their are other stats out their tht encompass everything and correlate better to runs scoring and are also easier to understand how they scale (for example, EQA)

You have to realize what secondary average is supposed to be used for. It is NOT supposed to be used as a measure of a player's total offensive contribution, just like batting average is not. It is meant as a way to quantify how much offensive value a player has outside of his batting average. If it is used for anything other than that then it is being misused.
For example if I say that while Rogers Hornsby has an 87 point lead on Joe Morgan in batting average, this is negated by the fact that Joe Morgan's secondary average ix 69 points higher (.431 to .362) then I am using it correctly. I am saying that while Hornsby was a better hitter for batting average, Morgan's secondary offensive skills do help to close the gap.
On the other hand if I am saying Joe Morgan's secondary average is 69 points higher than Rogers Hornsby's so therefore he must be a better offensive player, then I am misusing it.

I realize that but what is the point of thatkind of stat when you have all-encompasing stats.

What is the point of an all encompassing stat if it doesn't give you details?
If I tell you player X has 25 win shares or 70 VORP can you tell me what kind of player is he? Is he slugger, a defensive whiz, a five tool player, a grinder?

I see, that makes sense.
