Please note we're at the point of having to elect players in both October and November to keep the project from going to quarterly or annual elections.

Let the voting begin! For anyone who has not participated before, please read the rules posted here http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688382&postcount=2

Please note that this month the minimum contributor ballot is now zero (0) votes.

Other information of note is who is in the BBF HOF.

BBF HOF membership by category (http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688383&postcount=3)

BBF HOF members listed alphabetically (http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688397&postcount=4)

Last month's results are posted. You are requested to pay particular attention to those individuals receiving 50% or more of the vote last month, as they are the most likely candidates to be elected this month. In fact, I have specific posts on players and contributors receiving 50% or more of last month's vote:

Players with half or more of last month's vote (http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688418&postcount=8)

Contributors with half or more of last month's vote (http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688424&postcount=9)

Player results from last month (http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688404&postcount=5)

Contributor results from last month (http://baseball-fever.com/showpost.php?p=688407&postcount=6)

Try it now. I don't know why it didn't work then, but I've tested it and it works for me now. Feel free to PM me if it's still a problem.

I've PM'd you on this, but did you mean to include George Wright, as you did in your last ballot in August? Please let me know, because as things stand, a 24 name player ballot is invalid--and I'd hate not to count your vote over a simple typing omission.

PD. There is a HOF mussing about Bob Johnson? I was looking for one but I can´t find it.

We can discuss this in the discussion thread, but Johnson isn't in my queue, and hasn't (yet) garnered enough support to make me feel obligated to address his case. A huge element of the problem is he started late, and career value is quite important to me.

Bucky Harris
from The Baseball Hall Of Fame Website (http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/hofers_and_honorees/hofer_bios/Harris_Bucky.htm):
Bucky Harris spent seven different decades in the majors as a player, manager, executive, and scout. "The Boy Wonder" was 27 when he took over as player-manager of the Washington Senators in 1924, promptly winning two flags in a row. He hit .333 with two home runs to lead the Senators to a World Series title in 1924. Harris also managed the Tigers, the Red Sox and the Phillies, and led the Yankees to a World Championship in 1947. He won 2,159 games in 29 years as a manager.
Paul Krichell
Lefty O'Doul - Combining his playing career with the fact that he popularized baseball in Japan, which really began bearing fruit in the '90s here in the States, makes him a worthy candidate. The VC is considering his candidacy as a player, and this is from The Baseball Hall Of Fame website (http://baseballhalloffame.org/hofers_and_honorees/veterans/2007/2007_vc_candidates.htm):
Lefty O'Doul: 11 seasons (1919-34), first four as a pitcher, last seven as an outfielder…Career .349 batting average ranks fourth all-time…113 home runs…Hit .300-plus six times as a regular…Led leagues in batting twice…Tallied 200-plus hits three times, including 254 in 1929, still an NL record…Hit 30-plus doubles four times, 20-plus homers three times…Played in one All-Star Game and one World Series…Twice a top-10 finisher for MVP…His tireless efforts resulted in bringing baseball to Japan…Contemporary outfielders: Max Carey, Kiki Cuyler and Sam Rice.

Alex Pompez
from the Baseball Hall Of Fame website (http://baseballhalloffame.org/hofers_and_honorees/hofer_bios/Pompez_Alex.htm):
The son of Cuban immigrants, Alejandro Pompez owned the Cuban Stars of the Eastern Colored League, and later the New York Cubans of the Negro National League. Following the demise of the Negro leagues, Pompez was hired as a scout for the New York and San Francisco Giants, where for 25 years he worked to open the door for Caribbean players to enter the major leagues. He helped sign future stars such as Orlando Cepeda, Juan Marichal and the Alou brothers. His expertise on African-American baseball history was confirmed in 1971 when he was asked to serve on the Hall of Fame's Committee on Negro Leagues.

George Wright
Bill Freehan

This result means that while I'd certainly like to see us continue to elect people, we don't have to do so in November, December, or January to keep the project proceeding monthly (at least on the player side). Of course, should we do that, we'll have to come up with four or more in February.
