It's February, 2006. Every player has been released by their team, and you're one of the 30 GMs responsible for drafting your team. In an amazing scientific breakthrough, you know exactly how every player will perform and how healthy they will be. You have the tenth pick. Put together your top ten list of players you'd want, in order. Here's my list (highlight to view, so as not to influence people who don't want to be influenced):

Beltran
Pujols
Howard
Cabrera
Berkman
Reyes
Utley
Holliday
Carpenter
Soriano

I assume this is position players only. So, here's my list.

1. Albert Pujols
2. Ryan Howard
3. Miguel Cabrera
4. Lance Berkman
5. Carlos Beltran
6. Chase Utley
7. Jose Reyes
8. Matt Holliday
9. David Wright
10. Brian McCann

Now, if I was just drafting for 2006 without any future performance at all to consider then Barry Bonds and Alfonso Soriano would crack my top ten. If I'm drafting with the future in mind those two don't come close to cracking my top 10.

Any way you define the question, it's still be interesting, but I was going for pitchers AND hitters, with 2006 as the only season that matters. I'll start a new thread for the forward-thinking question.
