Is there any way to intelligently guess who will be pitching for the 'Stros next week? I'm going to see them at Turner Field Friday night and it'd be cool to know who might play. However, I know it is the end of the season. But still, I'm psyched! It's the only game I'll make this year!

Peace

Friday will probably be the Rocket , you're lucky man , his last career start or if you're unlucky , you'll see Jason Hirsh .

Probably not his last career start. Also what's bitting TKOK?

Rookie Matt Albers (in all probability) takes the mound vs. the Phillies.

Who's left, and in what order? Great question. Check out THIS ARTICLE ON WHEELER (http://houston.astros.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060924&content_id=1680594&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou) for a little more insight, if you dare. ;)

NR, do you know how Wheeler fared in Round Rock when he started?

Different day and age, my friend...much different.
I'd hand Wheels the ball ahead of Nieve, Wandy, Zeke, and Buchholz even. Experience is going to get us into the playoffs - far more than a label of "great future starting pitcher(s)."

Let Dan have a go. You read the numbers, at least I hope.

Why not give Nieve a fighting shot as well, the guy has really great stuff, although if you put Wheeler in the rotation, maybe Nieve would take over for him at the end of games.

I'd be with you on that, if not for the fact that he's faltered so badly in the department of HR's given up. 91 IP, 16 HR's allowed. :(

I love Nieve's stuff when he keeps it down. So far this year, he hasn't done that very well.

The normal rotation this week would find Matt Albers today (Monday) in Philadelphia. Don't see that changing.

Pettitte, Hirsh and Oswalt are slated for the Pirates series in Pittsburgh (Tuw-Thu).

That would mean Clemens, Albers and Pettitte next weekend in Atlanta. Albers' start on Saturday is the only one that's in question right now as far as I see it. I'm not too high on Wheeler starting right now.

Yeah, bitting.... As in the "Roger bitting the Yanks" phrase you have under you handle/name.

Chill? I wasnt arguing with him, just a question...

As for getting back on topic, do you think Roger will take another start this year?

I'm fixing to leave for the game in about an hour - so far everyone says it's gonna be Clemens! I'm terribly excited! I don't want to count my chickens, though. I had a dream last night that while he was warming up, Roger felt something and didn't start. I hope that's not true! Anyway, looking forward to it!

Holy crap, watching the Rocket was so amazing - everyone in the crowd gave him a standing O when he was pinch-hit for, and he came out and tipped his cap! What a class act. Here's hoping he pitches all of next year, and doesn't get hurt!
