Several years ago I heard one of the best baseball trivia questions. Here it is:

Three men have done the following: Each has managed a major league team twice, in non-consecutive stints, in different cities.

The team is NOT the same in all three cases.

In case you are confused, here's an example of how it can happen. Say at the end of this year, the Yankees fire Joe Torre and move to Omaha. Say 5 years from now they rehire Torre to manage the Omaha Yankees. He then would have managed the Yankees twice, in non-consecutive stints, in different cities.

Hint: all three men who did this played in NYC when there were three teams here. Two of the men played for the Giants.

Good luck.

One of them is Al Dark - KC A's (1966-1967) and Oakland A's ('74-'75).

Bill Rigney Managed the Giants twice, beginning in NY and moving with the team. Then he returned in 76 for one year.
The other 2 were part of Charlie Finley's musical Managers. Hank Bauer and Alvin Dark had stints with the A's in both KC and Oakland. Dark won the 74 WS in Oalkland.
Rigney and Dark played for the NY Giants. Bauer had a decent career for the Yankees.

Touchdown!

Good job, gentlemen.

A footnote:

Bauer is the answer to another trivia question: Who was fired so that the Earl Weaver era in Baltimore could begin?

It appears many seem to forget that Hank Bauer was at the helm of the 1966 Baltimore Orioles' first World Championship.
