He's still a fine hitter now and an on-base machine, but he's clearly not what he was 3-4 years ago.

His prime years were from 2000-2003, after that, injuries cost him a little, and he started to struggle at Humidor Field.

Frank Thomas started off slow and half of BBF wanted him to retire, now look at how he's doing

Wait til after next year, if he struggles next year, then you can see a period of decrease. If not, then he just had one off year.

Last year was slightly un-Todd Helton-like too. I wonder if he doesn't have a future as an Edgar Martinez-type DH.

He is either having an off year, or he is under rated this year with the Rockies.

Last year, Helton finished strong and from under .300 he had in August, he finished 5th in the NL in batting last year.
