-Work on your mechanics
-Stretch before and after throwing (run poles aswell)
-Practice your pitching from a mound

You need feedback on every throw. You need to know the speed of the last throw before you make the next throw.
Learn to throw hard then learn to throw hard w/ control. I would suggest you work a couple of weeks just throwing into a screen off a mound with someone reading out the speed to you.
Video often and put it up for review. Bump what everyone tells you against what the MLB'ers are doing in video.

Yes, can you make a video and post it here for an analaysis (how do i spell that :o ) ..
I was going to say: As long as you have movement on your pitches you don't need the speed too much. But, 60 for a junior is like... Sloooowwww, i'm sorry... But you must have some serious mechanic problems.

A video clip would make it easier to spot some mistakes and flaws.

Dear bugboy900:
You want to increase your speed 10 mph (50-60) in 6 months. Looking at it another way, you want to increase velocity 20% in 6 months. That's very close to Mission Impossible. I agree with Edmunds that you must have a serious flaw in your mechanics or training, because 50-60 mph at junior year is extremely slow. The good news in your situation is that because you are starting at a very slow speed, you actually have a shot at picking up the 10mph, because as a junior you should have the size and strength to do 70+. In my opinion, you do not have enough time to figure it out on your own through trial and error. My suggestion: hook up with the best pitching coach you can find, asap. Even then, it's a long shot, but at least it's a shot. A good pitching coach will spot the Big Flaw, and you will hopefully find a sudden jump in velocity.

For stride...you should be striding your body height. Have you had any injury done to your arm. That can also play a huge effect.
Good Luck
(are you playin a league or did you make HS)
