I am trying to identify a stadium I have in a framed black and white photo.
It's labeled LIFE. (as in the magazine) It has a quote by Ernie
Harwell. The picture looks to be from the fifties to sixties best I can tell from the looks of the people and cars.
the shot is from the rooftop of a building at least ten stories tall overlooking left field (well across the street).
as far as the architecture of the stadium the outfield is mostly open from right center to the left field corner. there appears to be a scoreboard at the left field wall near dead left.
the right field is two decks like yankee stadium and wraps around to home.
it looks like there are people standing on the top of the deck on the first base side!
i can see the outside of the stadium only along the left field line. there are some arches here and it is bleacher seating(one deck) far down the left line.
it looks to be in a pretty metro area if not run down.
any clues? thanks

You are very welcome! It was the tall building and scoreboard in extreme LF that were the kickers.. but I almost ventured to guess Crosley.. Thanks for the brain-teaser!

after seching for Forbes field I found the exact picture i have! and now I have more information about it. the caption read: Students atop Cathedral of Learning, October 13, 1960, celebrating Mazeroski's World Series ending home run.

So now I know exactly what the people in the picture are jumping out of there seats for, Thanks again
