Any opinions on the "Throwmax" and wether or not you would consider using this tool for an group of 8U's to help teach proper arm slot?

Thanks,

Tim

I've used the throw max with college players--it didn't work real well.

But I've also used it with high school softball players who threw the ball like a dart. We had some success changing the throwing motion of those athletes, though the throw max won't give them the ideal throwing motion. But it does help to get the arm in the proper slot.

Another drill we use is to have the girls sit on the ground, put the ball on the ground next to their knee while gripping it, pull the ball back along their leg while keeping it on the ground, keep pulling until it is at a point behind them, then get the ball up behind them into a proper throwing slot. Again, this won't get the most perfect motion, but it will help to eliminate some of the ugly motions we see with young kids or females.

I don't think it's worth the money.
