Goooooo

For those of you keeping score at home, Ryan Shealy is hitting .312 since joining the Royals. And that's excluding tonight's game, where he hit 2 HRs and had 5 RBIs.
Didn't DL say that we needed a power-hitting left-handed 1B?
I know what the DL apologists will say: Colorado was asking for Gonzo. But DL never even called/spoke with Colorado on that final day of the trade deadline when Shealy was moved. No calls. No, "Hey, give me one more chance to top any deal you have on the table." Nada.
I guess DL was too busy getting Shawn Chacon and AA middle relievers to be bothered with giving it just one more shot for Shealy.
How would this lineup have looked?
Duffy
Sanchez (in the #2 spot - where he belongs)
Bay
Shealy
Nady
Paulino
Bautista/Castillo
Wilson (in the #8 spot, where he belongs)
SP
[sigh]
