BALCO founder Victor Conte allegedly bragged to an associate that Barry Bonds had intimate knowledge of the designer steroids he received from the Bay Area company, and that the Giants slugger took an active interest in what those substances contained, a source close to Conte told ESPN The Magazine.
A source close to Victor Conte says Conte told him Barry Bonds sought BALCO's services to "get jacked."
The disclosure comes to light amid reports that Patrick Arnold, the Illinois chemist who created the designer steroid THG, has made the same admission to a national media outlet.
I don't know how much this changes things as far as the public perception of Bonds goes but it may have a great deal of impact on the what type of Evidence the Feds are able to mount aginst him. Although with Conte basicly contradicting himself in public he becomes a much less reliable witness, or at least I would assume.
I for one thought it was always odd that Giambi would have such an intimate knowladge of what he was using while Barry claimed ignorance.
